Hornets FC season goes all ‘Pete Tong’
It all started so promisingly for Aylesbury Hornets FC after lockdown. But after seven key players acquired injuries and another half dozen decide the lawn urgently needs cutting every Saturday afternoon. It has suddenly gone all ‘Pete Tong’.
Struggling to field 11 players Hornets FC endured morale sapping heavy defeats for a few games before rallying against one of the top teams in the division, Haddenham. Getting an unlikely 2-2 draw with a performance full of character and determination. The goal scoring hero was Enos , who stepped up with a brace and a MOM winning performance. Unfortunately the result didn’t trigger a dramatic upturn in fortune. Moreover another injury, this time to key midfielder Pete Michaels meant Hornets FC were again struggling to put out a team this week and another disappointing result ensued. Leaving Hornets marooned in similar position to Sheffield United (my home team!)
To the credit of the remaining fit players they continue to train and give 100% in matches . With only one game remaining manager Uzi will be happy to see out the season and is already planning a pre-season training camp in La Manga.
